Guitar Technician / Luthier
Ciari Guitars is looking for a Guitar Technician/Luthier to join our Nashville based manufacturing operation. Ideal candidates will be self-starters who are organized, efficient, and enthusiastic about joining a growing music instrument startup that is driving innovation in the guitar industry.
Responsibilities
Be an integral part of the team producing revolutionary folding guitars from assembled stage through final setup, QC inspection, and shipping. Specific responsibilities include:
- Assembling guitar necks and bodies to include patented folding system (e.g. mid-neck hinge, string actuator assembly, tone plate, etc...).
- Installation of frets, bridges, saddles, nuts, tuners, electronics, and other parts.
- Applying adhesives, filing, sanding, and buffing for perfect finish on all surfaces.
- Prep and gluing parts to finished bodies or other parts.
- Electronic pickup installation including soldering, string balance, and wire management.
- Operation of Plek Pro system to ensure optimal fretboard shaping and fret dress during manufacture (training to be provided).
- Final set-up including polishing, stringing, saddle and nut adjustments.
- Perform efficient and thorough Quality Control inspection and document.
- Box and ship finished instruments to meet product delivery schedule.
- Maintaining assembly area supplies and ordering parts as needed.
- Working in cooperation with other Ciari Guitars team members and manufacturing partners.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform fine craftwork on musical instruments including assembly and finish processes. Training for Ciari-specific skills on the job.
- Experience building and/or repairing fretted musical instruments.
- Desire to build high quality musical instruments and grow with the company.
- Ability to learn, if needed, and competently operate a Plek Pro system.
- Able to complete tasks thoroughly in a timely manner to meet/exceed production goals.
- Enthusiastic, self-starter, solutions-oriented, with team spirit.
- Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail
- Strong time management skill with the ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly accountable with strong self-discipline.
Compensation
Hourly range is $18-$22 per hour depending on experience.
